We were welcomed with warm greetings & could tell that the day was going to be exceptional.On the boat out we were enthralled by the stories of local aquatic life (24 species of sharks!)& variety of local surf breaks.We were also amazed by how far flying fish really can fly! The resort is unpretentious, clean and comfortable; the food is very good and varies sufficiently to remain appealing over an extended stay. The grounds are nestled into a cove surrounded by rainforest and well maintained a beautiful, cozy place. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It was more like staying with good friends than being at a resort. And the diving is fabulous!

It is perfect for surfers and divers because at Waidroka they have their own boats which leave from the resort. The boats are also skippered by locals who have great local knowledge. The shark dive and surfing perfect frigates was the highlights of our trip.

The team takes good care of all the guests. I surfed Frigates they packed lunches and I thought the entire operation was well run. Take a shared van from Nadi to Pac Harbor and save on the trip to the resort. Its around $15 FJ. The vans leave from a parking lot that is across a field next to the bus station.
Rohit Dave from Hong Kong The resort backs on to a rainforest and fronts on to the sea although without a beach. There was a large clean outdoor pool with a bar. The clubhouse was spacious & comfortable with free wireless & very helpful and friendly staff. Kitchen served large portions of delicious fusion style meals. Dive staff were very experienced. Diving was simply magical as were the amazing shark feeding dives. We highly recommend this resort & plan to return soon. Overall 5 star experience at 3 star cost.

The staff arranged a shark dive which left from Waidroka by boat and met up with the best shark dive operator you could ever imagine. We also dove bommies near Frigates loaded with healthy hard and soft corals. Boris told me about a rarely visited pinacle they can visit if enough people ask. Sure wish I had more days!

The bread, butter and coffee tasty ! Sarah catered to my strange dietary needs wonderfully. Chris, an excellent dive master, showed us things we might have missed. We highly recommend the massages (after a strenuous dive day) and Jewel of Fiji Tour for an excellent cultural experience. We're glad we shared part of our honeymoon at Waidroka Bay !

The diving was spectacular, and they took us on the Beqa shark dive, a pretty exciting dive! We also went on a whitewater rafting tour through the beautiful "Grand Canyon" of Fiji. Waidroka Bay staff arranged for everything, including all transportation, and I'll never forget the Kava Ceremony! I would love to go back and stay longer!
Ian Woodley from Redondo Beach California, USA Had an unbelievable time, stayed for 10 days got in 11 dives and surfed 9 days. Saw sharks, dolphins, pilot whales, sailfish, sea snakes to name a few. The only reason I didn't surf 10 days was because it was too big one day! Frigates was unreal, Pipes definitely the most challenging and Serua was one of the funnest waves I have surfed, all with "Almost No Crowd". The food was great and dinners every night were always filled with great conversation. Thanks and I will be back!

Although sometimes it was a struggle for me to get anyone to talk about anything except diving, I loved the lively exchanges when they REALLY got going about some other topics! It was never boring! Julie and Darryl are fun, funky folks with WONDERFUL senses of humor. When they're around, you have no other option but to relax and have fun. My other favorite thing? The hammocks by the ocean. A great breeze.

DIVE BOATS

Waidroka Bay Resort owns and operates a fleet of boats to choose from for various purposes. All of our boats are continuously looked after and maintained to a high standard to ensure our guests safety. Our boat drivers are all local and know the reefs like their own pocket, as well as are trained to operate boats for this purpose.

All boats always go out with VHF and/or back-up mobile phone. Long rides outside the outer reef and especially to Frigates are always done only with twin engine boats. Medical kits are always onboard.

"YAMMY" 23 foot fiberglass Yamaha boat with 40 horse power single motor. The "YAMMY" is our local reef boat and has a low draught, is simple to use for quick trips to any one of our local dive sites. She can handle the outside reef very well with a V-Hull shape and is great for quick trips anywhere.

"WAVE HUNTER" 29 foot fiberglass Yamaha boat with two 60 horse power motors. The "WAVE HUNTER" has a roof top , on-board VHF and stereo. She will go with larger groups to our local sites as well as out to Frigates and Beqa and is as fast and comfortable as any of our larger boats.

"WAVE RIDER" 30 foot aluminum monohull with two 90 horse power motors. The "WAVE RIDER" is our larger Frigates work horse and spends most of her time taking our guests to Frigates and back. She has a roof top, onboard VHF and stereo. The Wave Rider has done Frigates rides in calm and glassy waters within 25 minutes and is a lot of fun, with much comfort.

"FIJI EXPLORER" 30 foot aluminum catamaran with two 200 horse power motors. The "FIJI EXPLORER" is our largest boat and will take out large groups only, mostly when there are larger parties and sometimes when both surfers and divers want to share the most incredible combination of fun: Surfing - Diving - Surfing... an absolute blast. She is our fastest boat and has a hard roof top.
